We are a new Stoa club forming in the Indian Trail/Charlotte area.
My children have competed in Stoa for the past two years, and they would like to start a debate and speech club in our area.
Speech and debate has been such a transforming experience for our children. We would like to share and provide opportunities to help other students become more effective communicators for God’s kingdom.
We do not have a meeting time or day set yet. We are waiting to survey the interested families to see what meeting days and times work best in order to try to accomodate the most families.
If we can meet during the evening, the dads can help and we would be able to meet at Metrolina Christian Academy/First Baptist Church of Indian Trail. If we meet during the afternoons, we will meet at our house or the library.
We are going to host an Ethos Camp this summer. There will be a novice tract, and students will learn the basics of team policy debate, Lincoln Douglas debate, and parliamentary debate. The camp will be 3 days and costs a total of $30 for the 3 days. The coaches for this camp are Christians, and parents are free to sit in as space allows.
